 Website transition and alumni website access

To all alumni:
It's 2012 - I can't believe how quickly the time has passed. I have been maintaining this website for the past 8 years. Before that, at my tenure at West High, Mr. Thompson (Technology Teacher), Mike Hershberg, I and several other talented students helped develop portions of the original website, circa 1997. This was the original official website for West High. We quickly added an alumni section in mid 1998, and it has been providing alumni services ever since.
After Mr. Thompson's retirement, Mr. Jim Evans (English Teacher) took over maintaining the website, and in 2004 - I began re-developing the website. It's been an interesting and rewarding hobby. For those of you curious as to this website's history, I have written up a more detailed website history page.
Over the past several years, I have had less and less time to maintain and update this website and I think it is time to move on.
After careful consideration, we have decided that the best course of action will be to offer the domain back to the school, so that westhigh.com can once again be the school's official website domain, as it was originally intended back in 1997 when it was first introduced to the world.
The West Torrance High School alumni website, westhigh.com, will be closing down at the end of June 2012, so it can transition back into the official school website (assuming the school is interested in the domain).
We will be keeping the website information up and online until the end of June, 2012. Please be sure to attain (print/save) any information you require from the website by then as the information will NOT be available afterwards. All the posts, private messages, profiles, etc. WILL BE PERMANENTLY UNAVAILABLE AFTER JUNE 30TH. If you need anything - get it now while the website is still available to you. We have decided it best not to provide the alumni database to another party - as per the website agreement. Your privacy and information will remain secure as promised.
As for alumni relations, I have heard that there are a group of people working on forming an official alumni association for the school. I wish them luck. There are other resources available to you, including, but not limited to social networking websites, etc. There are many great plans forming for the alumni.
It has been an exciting journey. I am glad to have been a part of it from the beginning. It's been fun.
